SUMMARY:EAP Rulemaking - Statewide Feedback Sessions
DESCRIPTION:In March 2018\, the Department of Labor & Industries filed a CR-101 for the rulemaking addressing the Executive\, Administrative\, and Professional ("EAP" or "white collar") exemptions from the Minimum Wage Act.\n\nOver the last six months\, the department has engaged stakeholders regarding the scope and content of the rulemaking\, relevant data\, and draft concepts for updates to the rules. In conjunction with the forthcoming release of a pre-draft version of the rules (prior to the filing of the CR-102)\, the department is hosting feedback sessions around the state.\n\n \n\nThe feedback sessions will be comprised of two components. The first part of the meeting will be dedicated to providing a historical overview of the EAP rules\, the rulemaking timeline\, and an overview of the proposed draft edits to the rules.\n\n \n\nThe second portion of these sessions will provide the public with an opportunity to offer comments on both the rulemaking effort and the pre-draft version of the rule language. The department will be available both to answer questions and engage stakeholders in a discussion about the pre-draft rules.
