DESCRIPTION:The newly renovated Boulevard Park Library opens Saturday\, May 18! In 1943\, the Boulevard Park LIbrary was the first to join KCLS  The original 12-by-18-foot library cost just over $350 to build and held a collection of 568 books. Seventy-six years later\, the newly renovated library will re-open to the public as the final project in the $172 million Capital Bond\, approved by voters in 2004. The new space features a flexible meeting room with slide glass walls\, spacious study rooms\, new exterior windows\, all new fixtures and furnishings\, and art by Barbara Earl Thomas.
